Claretian Family Day 2019

The famous Claretian Family day of this year took place here at Buckden Towers on the August Bank Holiday, 26th August 2019. Like always Claretian Missionaries and the faithful from all the three parishes of Buckden & St Neots, Hayes and Leyton got together to celebrate the day. It was nice to celebrate the long Claretian presence in UK and Ireland and for the first time as being part of the new province of Fatima.

We were blessed with beautiful sunny day. We all enjoyed meeting and greeting one another. For some it was a good escape from the busy urban life to enjoy the serenity and beauty of country side. Of course to all these every bit of the Buckden Towers with it’s beautiful historical buildings, colours, gardens and loving hospitable people made the day unforgettable.

The Buckden Claretian community and the group of volunteers did a wonderful job in welcoming and making everyone feel at home by offering a delicious food for the lunch. We celebrated the Holy mass in the open grounds of the Buckden Towers, it was nice to see the unity as members of the same Claretian family of all the Claretian missionaries who were there from various continents. After the mass we enjoyed the cakes, tea and coffee before each one departed with a bag of memories.
